GENTIUM UK joining the Complyport team ensures our combined skillsets are utilised and available for existing and future global clients with the key focus being around education, compliance, resilience and the recovery, management and realisation of assets – physical or intangible ” – Andrew Tennant, Director, Gentium UK

Fraud, Money Laundering and Other Training Facilities

This will not change our core business, just make us stronger. Our team remains committed to delivering tailored bespoke training packages in a manner which ensures education and provides effectiveness for those attending. Through this acquisition, Complyport strengthens significantly its financial crime and AML investigation, audit and asset recovery capabilities in the cryptoasset space and beyond. With Gentium UK joining the group, Complyport now offers an expanded combination of digital asset expertise and hands-on investigative delivery to support firms as well as governmental authorities as UK crypto regulation evolves.

Preparing Teams for FCA Crypto Regulation

As the FCA moves closer to bringing cryptoassets fully within the UK regulatory perimeter, firms face an urgent need to upskill their staff and senior management with practical, regulator-ready crypto knowledge. Through the addition of Gentium UK, Complyport now significantly strengthens its cryptoasset training and hands-on advisory capability, supporting firms, professionals and operational teams ahead of the FCA’s upcoming crypto regulatory framework.

“Effective crypto supervision requires more than just understanding the rules; it requires a practical understanding of how illicit actors operate. Our goal is to ensure that every compliance professional we train and advise is equipped with the real-world investigative skills needed to navigate the complexities of on-chain activity.” – Richard Strike, Director, Gentium UK

From Policy to Practice: Crypto Training and Advice That Works

Gentium UK has worked closely with law enforcement, authorities, governments and international bodies on crypto policy, regulatory drafting and FATF-related assessments, bringing real-world insight into how regulation is applied in practice.

“Having advised governments and international bodies on the drafting of virtual asset frameworks, I have seen first-hand the importance of building policy that is both robust and enforceable. We are eager to bring that same level of strategic rigour to Complyport’s clients as they adapt to the UK’s new regulatory gateway.” – Alex Ferguson, Director, Gentium UK

Why Financial Crime Resilience and the UK Crypto Landscape Matter

The UK is entering a pivotal phase in its financial system. With the government positioning the UK as a global hub for digital assets, firms must meet higher standards of governance, controls and operational resilience.

Key developments include:

  • The FCA Crypto Regulatory Gateway (from 2026)
Cryptoassets will sit fully within the UK regulatory perimeter, requiring authorisation, ongoing supervision and robust financial crime controls
  • A Shift to Active Financial Crime Prevention
Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, firms are expected to demonstrate reasonable and effective procedures to prevent financial crime
  • Institutional Adoption of Digital Assets
Tokenised assets, regulated stablecoins and crypto custody are moving into mainstream financial services, increasing the need for institutional-grade oversight
  • Resilience by Design
Effective investigation and asset recovery are now essential to protecting market integrity and customer trust

By combining regulatory expertise with investigative and recovery capability, Complyport and Gentium UK help firms build resilience that works in practice.
